A small family based agency with a unique perspective on patient advocacy.
Owner: Mary Jo Layton CPC,CRC.
I have worked for physicians and surgeons and was an owner of a healthcare administartive support agency for 16 years. I also worked for major insurance company United Health Group, in the capacity of risk adjustment specialist and chart auditor.
Hand on experience
Where I gained most of my knowledge and experience for the need for patient advocacy was within my own family. In 2011, my father was diagnosed with Alzheimers. My mother tried the best she could to handle all the doctors appointments, insurance and volume of information. She needed additional help. With my experience I stepped in and found there is a huge gap in the oversight of care, especially for seniors. After my dad passed, I took over my mother's care oversight until she entered hospice at home in 2023
I took on the role of power of attorney and again realized how lost patients can be without a constant companion by their side. After my parents care came siblings and friends. I was told I had a talent for communication, technology, and medical chart review.
We can manage mail, insurance remits, pre authorizations and simple legal matters. We report to patient and family after every service.
It was at this time I decided to form a small family owned local agency in New Jersey for patient advocacy. There are free resources available to seniors, but they are rare, and difficult to access. I decided there was a need for a reasonably priced private alternative.
Reasonable rates
Primarily serving Ocean and Monmouth counties, we keep our rates low knowing how difficult it is for most seniors to manage their finances. We are here to help and not create another burden.
